  • SEALIFE Aquarium is claw-crushing fun for the whole family

As frequent visitors to LEGOLAND California, I can tell you that a day filled with LEGO is wonderful. However, when you combine LEGO and the ocean together you get SEALIFE Aquarium – even more fun for the family!

On a recent visit to LEGOLAND California, we took some time to see the SEALIFE Aquarium too. After the fascinating Octopuses Garden exhibit, we were excited to see what the new Claws exhibit had to offer.

Wow! I have never seen such huge lobsters and crabs. These animals are simply beautiful, especially the spider crab – and I learned so much about crabs. Like did you know that the Coconut Crab can exert five times the amount of pressure required to break a human bone? That’s one strong crab claw!

Of course the rest of the aquarium is pretty cool too. Jellies, seahorses, eels, and LEGO sculptures.

SEALIFE Aquarium is a fun afternoon for the whole family, but why not make a day of it and visit LEGOLAND California too? You can buy a park hopper ticket to visit both, or if you are a member like we are, it only cost $15 to visit the SEALIFE Aquarium.

  • Wordless Wednesday – LEGO Star Wars and the Dark Side

Once again, Dylan has gone to the Dark Side with Darth Vader at LEGOLAND California.

  • Wordless Wednesday – LEGO Santa

Even though Snow Days was a bit of a disappointment, this LEGO Santa was awesome!
The first real smile from Dylan with a Santa.

And the LEGO creations were pretty awesome too.

I only wish the entire park could have been decorated for the holidays instead of just the small area in Fun Town.

  • Brick-or-Treat Fun at @LEGOLAND_CA

What could be better than spending a day at LEGOLAND California? Why going dressed in your Halloween costume and walking down Brick-or-Treat Trail of course!

This is one of our newest Halloween traditions and quickly became our favorite. The park is decked out in all it’s LEGO glory – with a Halloween twist led by the good witch Hubble Bubble.

From an over-sized LEGO Pumpkin and a Giant Ghost to the Candy Corn Scavenger Hunt and Brick-or-Treat Trails, this annual Halloween event has something for everyone.

LEGOLAND looks at Halloween from a child’s perspective and brings all the creations of the tiny pieces of plastic to life. Great family fun at an unbeatable price … only $25! Annual pass members are free as long as you are in the park before 5 p.m.

  • Good-bye Summer, Until We Meet Again …

I can’t believe summer is over and my little boy will be starting 3rd grade in just two days. Where did the time go?
It seems like the older I get, the faster the years go by … and the more I wish I could freeze time. My cuddly little boy is growing up so fast.

As I look at school pictures from the past 3 years, my mind is flooded with memories and my heart is filled with love. Through pictures like these, I can freeze time … at least in my mind.

  • LEGO Club Weekend at @LEGOLAND_CA

Another week, another visit to LEGOLAND, California! This time was extra special though because it was LEGO Club Weekend; which means lots of fun stuff, a special brick, and a scavenger hunt in Miniland USA for little green creatures, and what else … LEGO’s.

LEGO Club Weekends are a blast because you never know what is going to be in store for you when you walk through the entrance. The first thing we saw was a black and green table with a crowd of people around it. Better stop by … here they were promoting LEGO Club Magazine (it’s free ya know) and the LEGO Club Weekend Alien Conquest Scavenger Hunt. Even though Dylan already subscribes to the magazine, they still gave him a copy of the latest LEGO Club Magazine and a LEGO Club pin to wear.

Before hitting the scavenger hunt, we wanted to get our special LEGO Club Weekend Alien Conquest brick, so we headed over to the LEGO Club House located in Fun Town.

  • Summer Vacation – Day 3 at @LEGOLAND_CA

Last day of summer vacation. So far two days and two parks … can we make it three parks in three days?

Of course we can … how could we drive right past one of Dylan’s favorite places and not stop?

Besides animals, my son is addicted to all things LEGO … and his face lights up every time we visit LEGOLAND California!

First stop, The Studio Store, to see what new STAR WARS items might be available. He didn’t even make it into the store before he spotted something he wanted. I foresee a very clean room in his future to earn enough money to buy this one!

However, he did have enough money to buy a coveted Lego Minifigure. Of course, we had to open it right away to see which one it was.

  • #Lego Minifigures Come to Life

Wondering what to do with all those Lego Minifigures your child has collected? You know, the ones that come in those shiny little bags … the ones you have to feel and desperately try to guess which one is inside?

Well, Dylan spent almost all day creating his very own scenes for some of his favorite Lego Minifigures. He still amazes me at what he can create with these little plastic bricks.

Surfer Girl riding a wave. This one is my favorite and I have been told that I can take it to work and put it on my desk.

Werewolf howling at the moon in a graveyard.

Frankenstein coming out of a grave.

Hockey Player scoring the wining goal on the ice.

Sailor and Fishing Lawn Nome lost at sea.

Looks like he caught a shark and was using chum as his bait. (That would be the red stuff in the water)

High above the water looking out for sharks.

Hazmat Guy rescuing the Tennis Girl from a contamination at the tennis courts.

Sumo Wrestler vs. Karate Man in a Japanese hut burning into flames.

It is Dylan’s dream to work at @Legoand_CA and build his creations.

All descriptions of these Lego sculptures were given by Dylan.
